Duck Trap Wherry

The Duck Trap Wherry sparked the renewal of interest in wherries with her beautiful traditional lines and shapely transom–with good reason. She’s an eye catcher. The frosting on the cake is that she’s actually the easiest to build of all our wherries, and the way she handles on the water is simply amazing.

And the best part? She's the easiest to build of all our wherries. You might not think so to look at her, but it's true. Actually it was true when we offered the plans and the lofting. It's even more so now that this information is available because it focuses specifically on the Duck Trap Wherry.

This is what the cover looks like, and below are a couple of sample pages. They actually measure 8.5" x 11", just reduced and optimized here on this page to make the images load in a reasonable amount of time.

The boat photographed here, and throughout, is Osprey, a 16-foot Duck Trap Wherry, finished in October 2004. Other photos include our lightweight 14 and 15 footers, and there are even some shots of our very first 17.
